Iranian actor Kamran Tafti starring in ifilm series such as ‘Sleep and Awake’ and ‘Third Sense’ sits for an exclusive interview.

The actor who appears on the silver screen for latest edition of Fajr Film Festival in Iran with ‘Mahoura’ talked with ifilm about events related to his acting career in cinema and television.

Tafti said to ifilm his appearance in 'Lifeline' served as his first entry to the Fajr Film Festival winning a nom for a Crystal Simorgh award.

He added, "Since then, I had no film at Fajr festival up until this year with Hamid Zargarnejad's 'Mahoura'. The reason is that there were so many television and theater acting offers out there and that movie offers were not so many to swerve to festivals, and their ‘tones’ were not in tuned with fest films; in fact it was not meant for me.”

‘Mahoura’ is a solid start for me. I played the role of an Arab in Mahoura. At least I know that the Arabs of Khuzestan Province can much relate to my role in the flick, the actor notes.

In response to a query about why he turned to singing besides acting, Tafti believes that his talent and art should be expended for people, adding, “If people refused to look at my work, I would be good for nothing; I need their support and without them, I am nothing.”

Kamran Tafti is a graduate of acting and son of Iranian theater director and actor Ardeshir Tafti.

His first experience of acting took place at the age of 7 when he appeared on a play scene.

Tafti has appeared in a number of series, including ‘A Place of Love’ (2000), ‘Asleep and Awake’ (2002), ‘Third Sense´(2005), ‘Time to Repent’ (2007), ‘Shams-ol-Emareh’ (2009), ‘Tabriz in Fog’ (2010), ‘The Window’ (2011), ‘The Wall’ (2012), 'The Hidden Secret' (2012) ‘The Transparent Night’ (2013), ‘The Line’ (2014), and ‘Michael’ (2015).

He has also acted in some movies such as ‘Hail to Love’ (2009), ‘Death is my Business’ (2010), ‘Dissertation’ (2010), and ‘Scandal’ (2012).

In addition to acting, Tafti is working as a voice actor in radio.
